My daily make-up routine!

Hellooooo! Now then in my last blog post I told you that I would be talking to you all about my daily makeup routine! I'm sorry it has taken so long to write this! I've been so busy with exams! No excuse I know:L BUT, here we are today, so here it goes! Enjoy!

This is the make up routine I tend to use most days but there may be one day in a hundred years when I change it up a little, so these are just the basics that you can experiment on as you like! The first thing I do with my make-up is just apply some Foundation. I use the 'M.A.C Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 in NW20' for my foundation and just apply a light coat as I don't like to look like I have a lot of make-up on. This tends to cost me about £27 which I know is a lot but with make-up I believe foundation is the most important thing! With MAC you know your buying a good product and I only buy around 2/3 of these bottles a year and it gives you skin great coverage and a healthy glow.

 

 

The next thing I like to do is to add some blusher as I think it can change the look of your skin so easily. I tend to alternate between a powder and like a creamy blusher. I prefer the feel of a creamy blusher but the overall colour strength I feel is stronger in the powder. Here is my cream blusher:

 

 

The powder one is in the set with my eye shadow so ill pop in a pic of that further down! Next I add my bronzer! There isn't much left of mine and you cannot read the lid on mine so anyway here it is, haha! It is the 'Collection 2000 Shimmering Glow' and was only £2.50 so go get yours! I wasn't sure whether so start wearing a bronzer but I couldn't go back now! I put quite a lot of this on as I like to look quite tanned! I put it all over my face to give it a nice covered look and it also helps my foundation to stay on too. The pictures below you can see are my lip gloss which is fantastic, it is a lovely colour and it has a balm on the end which means it stays on for longer! Woo! It is the Rimmel London 1000 kisses (handy! ;))  in 510 Kiss me!

 

These two pictures show my lipstick and the palette I was telling you about earlier! This is a 'Britain and Irelands Next Top Model' palette and I bough four on them in a set and they are my babies! <3 The colours I use the most are the beautiful gold and the army green! They both create a wonderful smoky eye look, which is very popular right now! The blusher on the right of them (sounding a bit like a satnav :L) is the powder I like to use!

 

I then apply some eye shadow to the underneath of my eye with the 'Jack Wills Intense Eye Shadow' in charcoal. I only apply a bit of this just to finish off the smokey eye look! It is quite expensive but it lasts for ages and it defo worth splashing out!

 

And finallyyyyyy... my mascara! I love mascara, I think it makes peoples eyes look so big and pretty! I use it everyday, even if I'm having a 'no make-up day', I still think it is necessary! Just brush from the top of your eye to the bottom and repeat as many times as you like!

Embarrassing!

Helloo! Today this blog is going to be about my painfully embarrassing moments as I think it may entertain you to know how much of a walking fail I really am! Take today for example! I was in a shop and someone shouted across the store 'Yasmin?' and I thought it was my friend and I also thought she shouted my name (Bethan...don't ask why I thought she said Yasmin), so I shouted back 'Yeaaaahhhh!' really loudly! Then the girl thought the girl she was shouting for had shouted back so she went on with some long list of things for this girl to do when she wasn't even there! I dread to think what went on afterwards when she realised she hadn't even heard what she had to do!

Then when I went to Paris last year I was walking down a street with my family and I turned around to say something to them and as I paused I realised I was standing on a grate that the air from the trains underneath gets released from! So, my dress went right up till it was around my neck so that everyone could see my bra and pants! It was also really busy so everyone was just pointing and laughing...it was awful.

Then there was the time when I got the hiccups during the Christmas ceremony at my local church. I don't go to church very often but we sometimes go at Christmas and I went with a big group of my family and half way through I got the  biggest and loudest hiccups it was awful. All of my cousins were laughing at me and my mum was furious. Everyone was looking at me like they were going to kill me...:L

British School

Hello! This blog is going to be about what school is like in Britain! I decided to do this blog as I thought that I had no idea what school was like in America really when the talk about Kindergarden and things like that and seen as I have readers in America (HEY!), I thought I would tell you what it is like for us here in the UK!

So in the UK we have basically Nursery, which is for children from 2-3 ish but some go earlier and here they just play and it helps their parents be free of them for a while! It's a bit like a giant babysitter where children go to learn and play! I had an interesting nursery experience as I didn't want to leave my mum so I ended up kicking my head teacher as she had picked me up so my mum could leave me to go to work! But after that I believe it went okay and I met my best friend in the world Eliza!

Then from there we go to Primary school! Now here you stay from about 3-11. I went to a little Primary school not far from where I live and I loved it - most of the time! You go through Reception which is up to age 4 and there you just play some more! Then you go into Years 1 and 2 which is until you are about 6 and this is where you start to do some work like basic Maths and Number. Next you go into years 3 and 4 where you get to start writing with...wait for it....a PEN! Now this was very exciting for a six year old so don't judge! You also start to do a bit more difficult work and stay there until your 8. Finally after what seems like forever and many a Christmas play has passed, you get to years 5 and 6 and this is quite exciting as you are now very close to leaving and going to Secondary school. The work does start to get more difficult and you begin to get homework to prepare you for the masses you get when you go to Secondary school.

Now in Secondary school you have years 7,8,9,10 and 11; then you go onto Sixthform which is where you pick four subjects to do at A-level which is a step before University!

In years 7,8 and 9 you learn the basics in all the subjects such as History, Geography, Biology, ICT etc that will help you if you choose to do a GCSE in the subject.

A GCSE is basically a qualification which means that you study a subject in detail for two years and then have exams on it to test what you have learnt! Fun...not! You can pick four subjects to do aswell as the ones you have to do like English, Maths, Science, RE, Welsh!

Bright Lights and Bunting?

Hello! How are you? Very good to see you back here! The page views are increasing thanks to you guys! I'm really really grateful and I hope you like reading my blog! It makes me so happy to see people are reading it! Please please pleasey please join my blog page as a member or add me to your circle on Google+ so I can see who is reading my bloggity blog and I can thank you very very much for doing so! Anyways, this blog is just going to be about explaining what the name of my blog means!

So, bright lights and bunting came about during the time when I was considering starting a blog and I was just sitting at the computer wondering for ages about what to call it! For anybody who has a blog and anyone who reads them really, you will know how important a name is! It attracts people to your page (or scares them away!) and it gives a hint about you and what your blog is going to be about.

Mine is just about my life in Britain, what it's like and what I do in my day to day life with a little bit of other stuff mixed in! Where I live in Britain there are a lot of little towns and villages where bunting is VERY popular and we have it in my house! It's really cute and you can have loads of different patterns! For those of you who don't know what bunting is, here's a photo!

Bright Lights!

Basically it's just triangles of different patterns strung together in a pretty way!

 

The 'bright lights' part of the name came from the cities side of Britain, like for example London, Manchester, Cardiff and Liverpool! These places are alive and full of bright lights! I think that 'Bright Lights and Bunting' really sums up what Britain is really about very quickly and simply. There is the wild side to it and there is the side that is a bit calmer and loves to drink tea!

British Fashion!

Hello! This blog is going to be all about British fashion! Woo! Now even though this blog is not going to be all about fashion, I have decided that it is defo necessary to include some information on the fashion in this vair vair small but fantastic place. So, here we go!

Now then, the fashion here is VERY out there and everybody really expresses themselves, especially in London! Of course we have the mainstream things that lots of people wear like snapbacks (a hat shown below!) and geek glasses which have probably been the most popular this year!

 

BUT! Some of the fashion in Britain is not so posh horse and hound, 'I'm just going to go shoot a bird for dinner with the dogs darling' thing, if you know what I mean if you know what I mean! The fashion in Britain is really incredible! Here are some of my favourites!

 

Number 1! This is a look that I personally LOVE! Alexa Chung just looks o.u.t.s.t.a.n.d.i.n.g! The mix of biker chic and smart business woman is really exciting and something I like myself a lot! If you want to try this look yourself just a long pencil skirt, shirt and jacked like Alexa has done here works perfectly or maybe try a bright dress and a similar jacket to the one shown here for a similar look!

Number 2! I love Rita Ora way to much and the fact that she has braved white and cream together is enough for me to be impressed as it's not something I would usually do due to not having the confidence that it would work together and something my messy self couldn't cope with! I also really love the clutch as its bright colours brighten up her look! I really like Stella McCartney too so the fact that this is by her was the icing on the cake! Try a white suit and red heels if your feeling brave- great in the sun to bounce that heat away!

 

Number 3! Ummm..... I've got to say this is not a look I like all that much at all! What is with the gloves being that BIG? I mean their hands must have boiling and their neck, poor thing! If one of my friends turned up in that I would have to say something. I understand it makes a statement and it's something you remember but in my opinion it isn't very nice and I defiantly wouldn't buy it! What do you think?

 

 

 

Number 4! Now this I adore! It's so effortlessly beautiful and the accessories are gorgeous. Her hair and the length of the dress just increase the glamour Jen Lawrence oozes! You can tell it's the Oscar's even before you see the sign in the background just from her! It's Dior so buying it for yourself might be difficult with its heavy price tag so take a look at some of these!

Cornwall Purchases!

Hellooo! I've just been sorting through my holiday buys and I love them so very very muchy that I thought I would show you a few of my favourites and talk about buying things in general! Such fun as Miranda (aka my hero) would say!

First of all this is my amazeballs new chair! It's an old directors chair and it is one kind which is one of the main reasons why I love it so much! I bought it in a little market down in Cornwall for £35, bargain! The design is a mix of cameras, sewing machines and typewriters! You can see the pattern better further down. If you like vintage stuff visit my friends blog called 'buntymeetsthequeen' its really good and is about all things vintage!

 

 

 

I also bought a cool tin with all old Cadbury (yum) chocolate bars on it which I thought was really interesting as I love learning about the past and eating chocolate so this really was the perfect buy for me! haha:)

Another thing I got was these really really funny glow in the dark moustaches. Now I don't know why they are so funny to me but I just adore them! Take a look:

Aren't they great? I've stuck them all around my room so I'm just sat at my computer waiting for it to go dark! 

The final thing I want to show you is the amazing present my sister bought me!

Right next thing I want to talk about is buying gifts for other people!

 

Buying gifts is so hard! I love it for people I know like my best friend or my sister but for anybody else I find it really hard. What do you get the girl who has everything or the boy who wants nothing? Is only a card ever acceptable? No. Never get someone just a card unless the only contact you have with them is sending and receiving birthday cards every year. Try your best not to ever turn up at a party with just a card, try and bring something else! Now you'll ask what then? What can I bring? Well....

 

• Chocolate, sweets, anything edible always works a treat! No pun intended! They also work well to give to new friends who you don't really know well enough to pick a personal prezzie for!
• A nice/funny photo of you and you friend will go down well as it will show you have thought about the present and will strengthen your friendship!/
• A drawing/ painting/ collage/ sock puppet to look like your friend- these are all cheap and fun ways of getting your friend something really nice for their birthday!
• Make a list of your favourite things about them- boost their confidence and they will really appreciate you time and effort.
• A CD full of their favourite songs!
